Dear Rowers, Parents, and Coaches,

Many thanks for a fantastic Ergathon! Special thanks and shout-outs to Lynn Halpern and Michael Batal who worked so hard to ensure that this event was a success!

The numbers are not totally finalized but it looks like this years Ergathon brought in around $7,500, which is phenomenal considering the size of the Fall team! Great job to all of the rowers who went out and solicited donations not only from neighbors and family but went as far as to visit the local businesses in town to obtain donations. This is important in so many ways because it gets the word out about crew. I don’t know if many of you noticed, but the new interim Superintendent Brian Monahan paid us a visit! The more visibility crew has the better chance we have at securing funding. Please continue to spread the word!

What can I say about our parents and their overwhelming generosity? We had so many come and volunteer their time, some for the entire day. Many thanks to all of you who made that effort it was greatly appreciated! The baked goods were beautifully displayed and from how much we sold, very tasty! All of our grill masters did a wonderful job preparing hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken quesadillas. Many thanks to all of the parents who donated food for the event. The volunteers who staffed the Crew Wear table did a great job selling Rye Crew merchandise.

The rowers and coaches ergged a combined 500,000 meters or roughly 312 miles. To put it in perspective that is about 12 marathons! Not bad for 35 rowers and two coaches!

Rowers, thank you so much for helping with the set-up and breakdown this year! You guys did an awesome job helping to unload and set up the ergs as well as return them to RAR after the event. Many thanks to the rowers who helped set-up and take down the Rye Crew tent as well as hawk the baked goods to the Rye Rec soccer families. Your help was invaluable and greatly appreciated!

Please don’t forget to visit those people who sponsored you to thank them and to collect outstanding donations. Every dollar makes a difference!

Once again, a million thanks, and let’s get ready for the Head of the Riverfront on Sunday!

Gratefully,

Maureen & Eva
